From kindergarten to high school, there are more than 500 students in the school. The headmaster is the soul of a school. In the complicated field of international education, I adhere to my own educational principles, do not compare the size of the school with the number of students, do not increase tuition fees at will, pursue the educational and teaching mechanism of excellence, and actively invest the benefits in the construction of the school to provide students with a high-quality educational environment. I lead all the faculty and staff to be born for education, to love education, to run a school with all their hearts and minds, and to strive to build a truly international bilingual school. Focusing on education all my life is my lifelong pursuit and love. I am committed to becoming a messenger of cultural exchanges between China and the West. I believe that only by striving to do the best, can I meet the expectations of parents. If you believe that the meaning of education is to prepare for children's life, if you love children, love environmental protection, love life, please join Juncheng bar, I will take "natural heritage gentleman, rhetoric sincerity" as the belief, lead Juncheng professional teacher team, let your children receive the best education in Juncheng. • Xiaomin (Simon) Chen, Ph.D.

    Head of School

Welcome you to the Springboard International Bilingual School (SIBS)! A premier destination to receive K-12 international education, in Beijing, China, the most dynamic and vibrant place in the world.

SIBS was founded 18 years ago with a vision to champion an approach to international education by embracing the fundamental of Chinese culture with the 21st-century global classroom led by outstanding international faculty. At SIBS, we recognize that amidst the rapid transformation of the world and China, something remains unchanged: the belief and value system that a student develops as a child into adolescence would stay regardless of further education attained in adulthood. We believe that true global citizenship is rooted in the self-confidence of one’s born identity and native culture. For parents, there is no place better to cultivate your child into the future elite, pillars and talents than at SIBS who instills the concept of “博物君子,修辞立诚”。

“A broadly-educated Jun Zi (Gentleman) who talks the talk and walks the walk” is the cultural element directly tied to the fact that China is the only longest continuous civilization in the world. Come to join us at SIBS, in Beijing to experience first-class international education and live through the moment in time when this historical city of 3000 years is the epicenter of today’s globalization!”

    Foreign Principal Director

Teachers and administrators at SIBS care about education; it is our purpose, and we define ourselves by what we do.  Education and teaching are integral aspects of what will enable our global community to be prepared to innovate and act with compassion now, and in our futures.

I look forward to working with the students and faculty here at SIBS to ensure that they are able to carry out their jobs successfully.  It is our goal to create the best learning plan possible for students.  Our mission here fosters a caring approach to student instruction, and guidance.  At SIBS, we place a heavy emphasis on the 6 pillars of character.  These Pillars are Responsibility, Respect, Caring, Citizenship, Trustworthiness and Kindness.  It is through these traits that we are able to harmoniously navigate the challenges that we face on a daily basis.  Our school is proud of its history and it’s reputation.  We have grown significantly over the past three years.  We have experienced roughly 400% growth during this time and this type of growth always provides challenges for any organization.  Our systems approach to operations has allowed us to successfully overcome obstacles.  With this growth comes more diverse opportunities for our students and faculty to benefit from.

SIBS is ripe with potential to establish itself as a school with a firm commitment to developing students into productive bilingual global citizens.  It is our commitment to live out our mission and provide students with diverse opportunities to engage in the curriculum.

As our community continues to grow it begins to develop connections with local and global partners.  We do hope your family embraces the opportunity we all have by choosing to be a part of this organization.

Warm regards,

  • Paul L. Brackmann

    Secondary School Foreign Principal

I come from Denver, Colorado and have 23 years of experience in secondary education. I spent the first 15 years as a classroom teacher and have spent the last eight years in administration. I am very lucky to have been afforded the opportunity to live and work in three different countries over the past 13 years. I have been in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and most recently I was serving the student population in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. My initial undergraduate degree 25 years ago was in education and since then I have earned several graduate degrees in education pedagogy and I am currently working on my doctorate in educational leadership. I have a passion for teaching and learning and it is my hope that we can inculcate this excitement for learning in our students as we work with them here at SIBS.

I know that SIBS has a long history of bilingual education and that is very exciting to me since I believe that it is very important for students to develop a high level of fluency in their native tongue as well as in the English language. This school year we will strive to enhance our students’ English language learning opportunities both inside the classroom and out. One way we plan to improve students’ reading skills is through our after-lunch reading program called Drop Everything And Read (D.E.A.R.). We will initiate this activity this year in an effort to foster a love of reading among our student population. Another goal for the SIBS secondary school this year will be the curriculum work and preparation necessary for the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program which we will have available for our students at the beginning of the 2021 school year.
